Portion control

The amount of food that you eat at one time for a meal or a snack is called portion size. It is important to be aware of portion size as it has a direct influence on your health. When you eat a balanced diet in the right amount, your body gets enough nutrients that help you stay healthy. Eating too large or small portion size frequently can increase the risk of sickness.

The amount of food we actually consume from our plate could be either meeting our nutritional needs or leading us to health problems, depending on the portion we consume. Palatable foods many a time tempt us to eat more than we need, which can lead to indigestion and digestive discomfort. Focusing more on weight loss could sometimes lead us to consume less than what our body needs, which in turn causes several health problems. Watching our food intake is a great way to maintain a healthy body.

Portion control has many benefits. A few of them are:

  • It helps you maintain a healthy weight
  • Balanced blood sugar levels
  • Better digestive health
  • Minimizes food waste
  • Reduces the risk of diseases

Eating a healthy and balanced diet in the right portion size provides you the nutrients you need, helps you stay healthy, and keeps your body in shape.
