Our thoughts, behavior, and actions are in many ways influenced by how we feel in the moment based on the emotions we experience.
None of us would like our emotional state taking control of our lives and causing stress in and around us.
It can’t be denied that, you like it or not, what you feel has an intense influence on what you think or do.
At times what you enjoy doing the most loses its value in your life when you feel overwhelming unhappiness. There are also times when you try something that you’ve never done before, when you are filled with joy and excitement.
Does an unpredictable behavior that is entirely dependent on your mood, which is in turn dependent on your feelings, help you have a balance in life?
Driven by impulse

While it’s natural and necessary to experience our emotions, it is not necessary to act out of our first impulses.
When you understand what you feel within, you need to remind yourself of the choices of action that you have.
There are many healthy ways to express your emotions and stay in control of your actions and words despite being in a difficult mood.
Denying or ignoring what you feel doesn’t help you manage your emotions or overcome them. Rather, identifying your emotions, accepting them, and learning to manage them is imperative for a balanced life and healthy relationships.
Denial or avoidance creates more trouble, as your feelings start building up within and grow into a larger problem, which could have a destructive power when not dealt with in the right manner.
Managing Emotions

Emotions are a crucial part of our lives, that teach us what’s going on within and around us and the influence it has on our life.
Allowing ourselves to feel them and finding ways to cope with them makes it possible for us to keep moving in life without being controlled by what we feel.
Getting overwhelmed or pushing away our emotions could damage our relationships and our well-being, as the emotions we feel have been caged within, without being dealt with or managed the right way.
Did you know that there are ways to experience and express your emotions without allowing them to have control over your behavior?
When what you feel doesn’t control your life, it helps you grow in life, and make better decisions, without causing any damage to your well-being as well as that of the people around you.
Ways to find balance

Being mindful of your surroundings is essential to know when it’s okay or not to let out your feelings. This keeps you from being impulsive and gives you enough space and time to reflect on the circumstances and arrive at a better perspective.
Practicing mindfulness in daily life is one of the best ways to deal positively and constructively with what happens in daily life and not get engrossed in the chaos of the world.
Spending some time in nature, or doing what makes you feel better such as reading, listen to your favorite song, or taking time to pray and meditate are some essential things to incorporate in one’s daily routine in order to develop strength of character and find a balance in life.
Developing emotional regulation skills takes time and it’s natural to make mistakes at times. Do not let your mistakes keep you from reaching your goal of attaining a balance in life with well-regulated emotional expression.
